Housed bearing units simplify mounting by combining a bearing insert with a ready-to-bolt cast iron or pressed steel housing. The housing style determines how the unit attaches to your frame — and choosing the wrong style creates alignment problems, frame modifications, or insufficient load capacity on conveyor and material handling equipment.
Pillow block units (UCP series)
The most widely used housed unit. Two-bolt base mounts to a flat rail or frame member. Ideal for conveyor tail sections, mid-span support, and horizontal shaft applications where the base sits on a structural channel.
Available from bore 20 mm through 100 mm+ in standard series. UCP 205 (25 mm bore) and UCP 208 (40 mm) are among the highest-volume MRO sizes in UAE material handling plants.
Square flange units (UCF series)
Four-bolt square flange mounts to vertical walls, machine side panels, or horizontal plates where a pillow block foot is impractical. Common on OEM machinery, mixer drives, and compact conveyor head sections.
Oval flange units (UCFL series)
Two-bolt oval flange for lighter-duty applications and tight mounting spaces. Used where full four-bolt pattern cannot fit but some flange support is still needed.

Insert bearings and housings
The insert (UC series) includes set screw locking (UK series uses tapered adapter sleeve). Verify whether your shaft uses set screws or an adapter sleeve before ordering — mixing types on the same line creates inventory confusion.
Housings and inserts can often be replaced independently if the mating dimensions match. Share photos of both components if only one part failed.
Selection checklist for conveyors
- Confirm shaft diameter matches bore code (205 = 25 mm, 208 = 40 mm, etc.)
- Measure base bolt hole spacing if replacing non-standard OEM housing
- Specify 2RS insert for dusty environments
- Note take-up vs fixed position — take-up units allow belt tensioning travel
- For food or washdown areas, request stainless housings separately
